There are a lot of fun things to do and places to visit in this state. One place that is fun is the newly renovated downtown area of Greenwood in the delta. I'm probably just biased because thats where my parents are from but it is a pretty cool downtown. If you go to Greenwood, you have to eat at the Crystall Grill. It is a famous local restaurant that has been there for several decades. It is a seafood restaurant.
The Coast area is pretty cool too. Now that things are starting to get built back, its getting to be a fun place to go again.
As I've talked about in my previous blogs, I like the Jackson area as well. Ridgeland and Madison are cool places to go. Flowood is getting to be pretty cool as well.
Vicksburg is another pretty cool place to go. It is an old historic city and it is not far from the Jackson area.

stressed
The end of the semester and the last couple of weeks of school are not much fun. I have a whole bunch of schoolwork to get done and not much time to do it. I will get it done though and it will be nice to celebrate the summertime. I'm pretty stressed right now over school but thats because its exam time. I think most people are probably pretty stressed right now over school. I am just gonna try to do the best that I possibly can. I know that if I try my hardest, then there is never anything to be ashamed about. I'm gonna try to reward myself when I get chances to for studying. I'll take a break and go grab some good food or go rent a good movie. I may go hang out at a friend's place. Those are just good ways to take my mind off school for a while and are good rewards to myself. Its good to reward yourself for studying as they provide good incentives for studying.

keep the doors open
Somebody once told me to always keep the doors open. I think what he meant by this is to always do the best you can and the more you excel, the more doors will be open or opportunities will be available. However, if you shut a door or not take advantage of an opportunity, sometimes these doors are impossible to reopen. I know of people who kept doors open and did the best they could during college who are now succeeding in their lives. I know one person who in their 30s decided to go to medical school and another in their 40s who decided to go to law school. They were able to do this because they did well back in their college years and their efforts in college enabled them to make career changes and get accepted into graduate programs. Keep the doors open might sound like kind of a vague expression, but I definitely think I understand what that man was talking about.

senator switches parties
I just read on the internet that apparently longtime Republican Senator Arlen Specter has switched parties from Republican to Democrat. I'm neither a Republican nor a Democrat. I'm an independent. Both parties have a lot of problems. It doesn't make much sense though that someone who has been in the Senate for as long as Specter has could just change parties. Thats pretty strange but it shows that the political party system in Washington doesn't make a whole lot of sense. It is rumored that he was going to lose the Republican primary in Pennsylvania and that might have played a big part in why he might have changed parties. It seems like most politicians only care about getting re-elected and some of them probably vote certain ways on issues just to get re-elected.
another day
Another day is here. A few more days of classes left this semester and then exams. I think I'm ready for my exams. It will be tough having so many tests in one week, but I have been keeping up with the work in all of my classes. I'm glad that I've kept up pretty well in my classes, because it makes finals week a lot less stressful. I need to find time to fit in a trip to Wal Mart today to get some snacks since I haven't been to the store in a while. It will be nice to be done for the semester. Time has flown by and summer is almost here. Its kind of weird how fast time flies. Somebody once told me that time flies by like the blink of an eye and I definitely agree.

the cable news media
The cable news media is pretty ridiculous. Each station has their own agenda. Each station has shows which feature political pundits who make a lot of money from all the partisan bickering. They make their living by getting both parties stirred up over issues. Rarely do you ever really get both sides of the story on most of these shows. I dont know if it has always been like this, but these stations are all pretty biased in their coverage of issues. They are so biased in their coverage that a lot of people probably won't even watch any of the cable news media stations. I would think that they would realize that if their coverage was more honest, then they would have more viewers but apparently they don't realize this. I'm not sure its going to ever change since it seems like it keeps getting worse.
swine flu
This swine flu stuff could get kinda scary. Hopefully people will be responsible and the virus wont spread. I've heard that a big part of the problem when some crazy health situation happens is that some people who are sick don't stay away from others. Hopefully the government has the vaccines and stuff to deal with some type of outbreak. I didnt know that there was some swine flu pandemic in the early 1900s and that is scary. The media has been covering the swine flu stuff a lot. It definitely could be a real serious situation but if its not, hopefully the media won't scare everyone. Right now it seems that it is too early to tell if it is going to turn into a really serious situation.
